I just made the most delicious Italian dressing I’ve ever tasted. I found a recipe online and tweaked it a bit: 3/4c EVOO 1/4c ACV 1tsp garlic 1tsp oregano 1tsp basil 1/2tsp onion powder Salt & pepper to taste This recipe makes 14 tablespoons at ~133 calories per tablespoon. Sounds like a lot, but remember- you’re eating real food instead of the questionable ingredients you find in store bought dressing ... plus, all of the good fats from the EVOO will help keep you full. ✨Transformation Tuesday✨ ✨✨💫🐛🦋🐛💫✨✨ ⠀⠀ I’ve been holding onto this before and after pic for a long time now... Primarily because I had no idea how much of a physical transformation I had made while on my fitness journey. ⠀⠀ My whole journey is about the body, mind, and spirit connection. And I’ve been so focused evaluating my mind and spirit progress, I never really paid much mind to the physical progress. ⠀⠀ Don’t get me wrong, I am fully aware that I am making great physical progress. My clothes tell me this. My new healthy glow tells me this. But I had no idea how out of shape I was until I stumbled on this photo from April, 2015. ⠀⠀ I took the pic then for a reason... I was unhappy with my body, my state of mind, and my spiritual growth. I knew I had to make some changes. And I had the foresight at the time to document what my body looked like. (If you could photograph my then state of mind, God knows how that would have looked 🤪). ⠀⠀ Anyway... here I am. Fully exposed! I like what I see now. I’m shocked I let myself get to how it was in 2015... Even though I was doing a ton of cardio, my body did not reflect it. I’m convinced adding HIIT to my workout regiment made all the difference! ⠀⠀ My only concern now is my diet. I cut way too many corners and do not follow my meal plan as religiously as I should. And by this, I mean I do not eat enough. And that MUST change, or my muscles will start to cannibalize themselves. That would be tragic. And just plain stupid on my part. Like throwing the baby out with the bath water. ⠀⠀ So, although transformed, I am still growing. I have a lot yet to learn and a lot further to go on this fitness journey of mine. My body, mind, and spirit are once again friends. And I want to keep it that way. LEGS -Squats (preferably with a barbell) 2-3 sets of warmups building to the working set's weight (Working set weight should be so heavy you're struggling for your last Rep while maintaining proper form) 2-3 sets of 10 reps warmup sets 4 sets of 10 for working sets - Leg extension SUPERSET with Leg curls Leg extensions 4 sets of 10 reps Leg curls 4 sets of 10 reps -leg press Pyramid set 6 sets 15 reps, 12 reps, 8 reps <-- no rest between sets 90 second break 8 reps, 12 reps, 15 reps <-- no rest between sets (Weight should start out low, then medium, then heavy, then heavy, then medium, then low) - lunges Find a weight that'll allow you to completely bend down to the floor for a full range of motion and back up again. Do 10 walking lunges one way and come back again for another 10. That's ONE set 4 sets of 10/10 - calf raises Go to the barbell rack. (The one that holds the barbell on a cable (smith machine) put a lot of weight on it. Find a box to stand on. Put your feet on the edge of the box and slowly bend down, stretching your calf. Raise up to a tip toe position fast. If you dont watch my stories I have been trying to make it a habit to wake up earlier to get my workouts out of the way so by the time the boys are up we can just chill or head out the house!
