The New England IPA (NEIPA) is a departure from the traditional West Coast or American IPA style. This new style is purposely hazy or cloudy giving it a smooth mouth feel, and unlike the predecessors, there is little or no hop bitterness at the end. The style uses hops that impart tropical, juicy sweetness making the NEIPA a very approachable beer for every craft beer pallet. At the OpenRoad we brew our beers true to style and our NEIPA is no exception. Hit the OpenRoad and enjoy a pint of Up the Country NEIPA. #neipa#craftbeer#wayland#hazyipa#hazeisgood#hazecraze@openroadbrewery
@mlivenews named #M43 their beer of the year last Friday! We are incredibly flattered by this and the support of the beer community. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To celebrate, pints of M-43 will be $1.43 today in the pub! *Howler and growler fills are regular price.
If you’ve been to @oldnationbrewing , or have tried one of their beers, than you already know how good it is! The brewery is a bit of a hike for us for a couple beers, but we will definitely make the trip. M-43, Boss Tweed, Fine Stranger, and pretty much everything else they have on tap is delicious. They also plan to bring back some old favorites: Boxer & Greenstone. They started the haze craze here in Michigan, and we are beyond thankful! No one can create an East Coast IPA like them here in the Midwest. It’s also pretty easy to stop in after an MSU football or basketball game. No matter your reason make sure you get there!
Another brewery in Saint Claire Shores we stop at every now and then. Baffin’s building and atmosphere are very similar to Jamex, but their beers are a bit different. I normally get their Mango Unchained - an American Pale Ale with fruity mango. It is definitely on the sweeter side and has true sticky-sweet fruit notes. We’ve also stopped up to try their East Coast IPA, Wicked Smart. This beer won in a vote against Old Nation’s M-43. We personally didn’t think it was better and lacked the haze, but clearly we’re in the minority. Let us know what you think! 🍻
