Praising God can take many different forms such as music, art, being outdoors in God’s creation, sharing what he has given us, writing, telling all he has done and more! Anything that draws our attention to God can be worship and praise. Today take a moment to praise God by sharing something he has done. I am thankful to share a little about our adoption story. We had always talked about adoption even before we had our biological son but it had taken a back burner in our family over the years. When Lucas started asking for a brother, we prayed but did not feel led to have more biological children. We began to explore adoption again in 2015 and started the paperwork process. By 2016 we were selected as finalist families many times on different kids but they did not work out. By 2017 we were becoming worn out by the emotional roller coaster and were ready to give up. We prayed and even set a deadline of when we would stop. Over and over we kept hearing God say “wait” and wait we did. Right when we were ready to give up we found out about Jace. Something clicked when we found out about him and we knew we wanted to know more. At first we were told it wasn’t a possible match but we kept pursuing and waiting. After weeks without communication, suddenly we were asked to come to a selection interview. Without knowing much we went and found out the next day they picked us as his forever family. We immediately began visits and 3+ weeks later Jace came home forever in May! If we had given up and not waited, we would have never been selected as Jace’s family. God is amazing in all his ways and we praise him through the hard and the good times! He knows best and loves us lavishly! Won’t you praise him with me today? #praisethelord#tellofhismarvelousworks#godisworthy
The Apostle Paul said, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thes 5:16-18). You may not be able to thank God FOR all circumstances, because many circumstances are not pleasant. But you can still thank God IN THEM! In the middle of a bad situation, you can still give God praise!
