Good morning! 😊 Back at my usual gym and back to benching. 5 x 2 at 35kg. Last 2 sets shown. Accessory work was 3 x 10 incline dumbbell bench and 30 face pulls supersets. I had to do that before the main lift today as someone stole the bench from right under my nose 😅 Coming back to work from holiday always sucks, but I'm wearing the new vintage coat I got in Amsterdam so I'm cosy and warm, and Christmas is also really close 😀

#tbt and a sleepy story 💤 today I had one of the most random leg sessions in one of the most amazing gyms in the world. - Why random? Well, my body feels pretty shattered after a 37 hour flight and staying awake almost 45 hours straight (with probably 3 15 minutes ‘kind of sleep’). Yes, I had the privilege of having the most annoying child of all times in the seats right behind me so I got flying bonuses like: high pitched endless sobs, kicks and punches (pretty sure the kid will have a future in boxing) and even a piece of butter landing on the top of my hair! - I did go to the gym planning to have a great leg day but my whole body was just so tired. Besides the accumulated back of sleep, I only managed to get 5 hours of sleep last night because my body is still not used to the new time zone. - Sleep is so important to physical health and as important as exercising and eating healthy. No, and it’s not coffee that will solve it. We all know that many people start drinking coffee (in case they are not used to it) or even up their coffee intake (the coffeaholics). But that will only mask the problem and in the long term can lead to chronic fatigue. - So, after attempting to squat half of what I usually do 🤦‍♀️ and realizing that my body was definitely NOT at its best, I decided to just randomly pop into some machines that the and do whatever I felt like it. The goal changed from ‘having a great leg day’ to just ‘get my body moving’. - I have to say that I feel very proud of myself. Two years ago, I would have thought to myself ‘you need to do this’, ‘you need to get that workout in’. And I would have pushed it and ended up feeling shattered but happy. Today? Well, it’s more like: 🤷‍♀️. I’ve change my mindset from HAVING to work out, to HAVING THE PRIVILEGE to workout. Of course that I wanted to give my best and to have had a solid workout but my body was not at its best because of things that I didn’t directly control (although I could have done a little sneaky punch back 🤔 🥊 🧒🏻). Despite my chronic conditions, I still have the privilege of having a body that allows me to move, to breathe, to live. One day at a time 🌎

A few of my favourite #trx core exercises for you today. Plan was to actually have a rest day but I woke up super early feeling full of energy so I didn’t waste it. Keep your back nice and straight with these, core engaged. Don’t overdo it until you’ve built up your core strength, start with only as many as you can do and take your knees down as soon as you feel your back might arch. I’ve put a little clip of getting your feet into the TRX in my stories: it can be tricky but a little practice and you’ll soon find it’s easy. I did this for 3 rounds, as many as I could of each with 30 sec - 1 min rest between exercises. Cardio was 20 minutes uphill walk TM. Just finished our oats this morning (again in my stories) and just getting ready for the day. Some bits to do this morning then waiting in for a boiler engineer this afternoon, it hasn’t been working properly but so lucky it hasn’t packed in completely with the cold weather! 🛏// Morning Routines _ How do you set up your morning? Routines and rituals are a great way to give a foundation and structure to our days that help us achieve more in a day. . It’s important to try and create a productive morning routine if you’re trying to establish an entirely new routine or your goal is to break some poor habits and replace them with better ones. . When we improve the quality of our mornings, we improve the quality of our days. It sets your mood. Starting out by hitting snooze, rushing around and feeling stressed right from the start usually leads to a long, anxiety-filled and unproductive day for me. So by creating myself a productive morning routine, i can normally set myself up to have a (more) focused and productive day. . I get up earlier than I need to in order to: not rush breakfast (my fave meal of the day is not to be rushed), take a walk, stretch, plan out what I need to do for the day and prioritise tasks, put together all my meals for the day & generally take time to wake up properly. . The way you start your day is dependent on your lifestyle and preference but, the fact is having a healthy morning routine is more important than exactly what that routine is. _ Whats your morning routine?
