First of all, I’d like to thank all the friends, and random people that come up to me, message me or call me and tell me how I’ve helped them get started on their own fitness journey and motivated them to start. It’s the only reason I make these Embarrassing posts🤦🏽‍♂️ and I’m grateful and honored to help. Anyways, It’s been a while since I did an update so here it is lol. After starting out at 242 lbs, I started exercising and dropped to around 232 lbs. Then I started doing a low carb diet with no cheat days and 4 days of weight training a week for 1/2 hour a day, one day of jogging (Well actually walking, cause I was too heavy to jog, and my knees would hurt) for 1/2 Hour every Sunday at work, and walks and short jogs whenever I could at night. And I added in hikes now and then too. I added a cheat meal day once a week and still kept on my low carb diet. I dropped all the way down to 199 lbs. Now I haven’t had a chance to hike, but I weight train at work 3 days a week, CrossFit 1 day a week, jog 1 day a week and hit the gym 3 days a week. With 2 of those days being double workouts most of the time. I’m now bouncing between 205 lbs to 208 lbs. I guess it’s muscle gains but I don’t really see it 😝 lol. But the most noticeable difference to me is my back. Target areas I need to work on harder include 1) Lower stomach (that Faka taking long to disappear 😠) 2) inner thighs (only loose pet of my legs now) and I still have one small side boob action goin on with my right side🤦🏽‍♂️🤣 Still trying to work hard at it, and not about to quit. All this progress has only been within a 7 month span. Round Two Answer: My Personal Transformation👍🏾☝🏾👈🏾 I grew up in an environment where I continuously questioned myself and my value. There were standards set before me that I felt I couldn’t commit to because I genuinely knew it wasn’t who I was meant to be. I don’t believe a lot of people truly devoted time to understand who I was and wanted to be, close friends and family included. Before I knew it, I found my 18 year old self at 5’9 and 250lbs. When college came around, I dedicated my first year to my own personal goal: fitness. Even after losing 60 pounds and reshaping my internal perspectives, I was criticized and called ‘anorexic’ because of my body change. I struggled on and off for years, still dedicating myself to the gym but not really seeing the #bodypositive change I desired for myself. It wasn’t until mid 2017 that I was able to connect with people at my gym and on #instagram who not only have their own fitness goals, but were ready to be supportive of the #transformation we all seek. The first week of this challenge has changed me a lot more than all of last year did combined. I became determined in my own right and decided to utilize my gifts and strength to push forward. We may not be were we want to be and even get discouraged when others are meeting the goals we wish we could. However, I’m thankful that I’m not where I used to be and that the only direction I’m allowing myself to travel on this #fitnessjourney is up. If you ever feel like you’re alone on this journey you’re not. SO, I goof around at the gym... A LOT; @thegrizz3_12 can confirm this, but it’s because life is too short to let the ins and outs of life get to us. I also tend to work hard even when I’m goofing off, because a lighter mood makes for a more optimistic outlook.... so... i will continue being the rebellious goofball who stops in the middle of a zone to dance, do a toe touch, cheer on my peers, or just make a funny face. So, next time i get to class late and Jose says there’s no way i can hit 2k meters on the rower in under 7:30, I’ll be sure to beat the time you see posted here. This hour was by far my favorite today! Getting to spend time chit chatting with these amazing ladies about how this past week has gone and getting ready to CRUSH the week ahead was a TON of FUN! They even let me talk about managing your time - which is my favorite thing ever! 💞 Getting to know ladies from all across the United States and Canada would never have been possible if I hadn't taken that leap of faith and decided to figure out how to get my life on track and get healthy.
