Ham and pineapple, chicken and pineapple skewers, pulled pork with pineapple salsa... pineapple is one of the most common fruits you will see paired with meat dishes, you may not have thought anything of it but do you know why this is?? Pineapples contain high amounts of a protein digesting enzyme called Bromelain 💁🏼 which is commonly used as a meat tenderiser. But I didn't put up a post so you learn it is good for meat tenderising 😂the health benefits of bromelain are incredible... It is traditionally used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling agent. It has been found to stop the growth and spread of cancerous cells, it can also help to relax tense and inflamed muscles and connective tissue! It can be used to treat a range of disease and conditions, and as it is not the fastest fruit to grow and mature it really is a testimony to 'good things take time'
Happy Sunday everyone, and get yourself some pineapples 🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍 #funfacts#sundayfunday#nutrition#healthiswealth#healthyfoodchoices#didyouknow#pinapple#tropical#blogger#wholefoods
This is true for many foods that people think are "healthier" ... Do your research & not on blogger pages. ▪

😯WHY WHITE RICE IS BETTER THAN BROWN RICE😯
This one is going to shock some people, and probably even trigger a few folks who are religiously devoted to brown rice.💅🏼
There's a misconception that's been floating around the fitness space for years that brown rice is better than white rice.👯♂️
Maybe it's because the food pyramid provided by our loving government prioritized whole grains as the most common food source we need in our diets...🤷🏼♂️
Maybe it's because brown rice has slightly more protein and fiber, although not enough to actually matter. (And not even complete proteins)🤷🏼♀️
Or maybe it's because white rice looks more like sugar than brown rice and we're supposed to believe that sugar makes you fat. (It doesn't. Too much sugar makes you fat.)🙉
In all reality, the reason most people believe brown rice is superior is that everyone else says so.🤦🏼♂️
Does brown rice have more nutrients? It has more of some and less of others than white rice but in negligible amounts. (If you want nutrients, eat fruits and vegetables.)🤓
The problem is that brown rice could have way more nutrients and it still wouldn't matter because brown rice is full of phytates and lectins, which bind to vitamins and minerals, preventing them from being absorbed. #googleit
These phytates also prevent the proper breakdown of protein and sugar, as well as interfering with digestion.🤬
White rice, on the other hand, digests VERY easily and doesn't interfere with the absorption of nutrients or your ability to break down protein and sugar.🤯
Plus, it tastes better.💯
If you like brown rice better and have no digestion issues, stick with it. But if you're only eating brown rice because you think it's healthier -- let the truth set you free!🙌🏼

Silly🤪 Sensitive💕 Introvert🔮
I’d say those are three words to describe myself... I am an introvert, meaning I get my energy from (crucial) alone time. I am sensitive... pretty self-explanatory. I am extremely sensitive, a lot of times to a fault. I take many things personally (even though I shouldn’t), and I also tend to overanalyze to the point of making myself anxious. But I am also capable of empathizing deeply with others which I think is a good thing🙂 And last but certainly not least, I’d like to think I’m pretty funny 😏 I LOVE making my friends and family laugh❤️ #funfacts#aboutme#piitday13
Did you know planes in South Carolina look just like planes in Florida. I bet in Boston they will look the same too..if I ever make it. #funfacts#bostonbound
#SuperSaturday Whitening products for teeth date back to the Middle Ages. But the ancient procedures, in which the teeth would be filed down and bathed in nitric acid, quickly led to extensive tooth decay!
Just call me Reindeer Whisperer from the South.. 🦌🦌🦌 After chatting away about the marvel of these magical animals I learnt so much that I didn’t know before!!! SOO I wanted to share with you some facts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Did you know that the antlers fall off? & then regrow again every year? Do you know how scary it looks... google it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Where does velvet come from? FREAKING reindeer antlers! I had no idea until I touched one and realized they were so soft NOT hard like bone. So there you go... They fall off naturally in the wild however they are removed beforehand to make Velvet because it decomposes .... & then pooooof✨ Your new velvet dress is constructed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. I also discovered that they have extremely sharp hooves!! These guys were wearing booties to cover them because they can actually slice you with their feet :/ kind of chilling! Always thought the antlers were dangerous.. They only use that to pin you down, then slice you. Yes, a bit gothic of me to write this ha-ha, but I always thought Rudolph was innocent. Would NOT approach one in the wild. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Also! Santas reindeer are all females 🦌🌻 Male antlers fall off in November whereas female antlers stay on for the entire winter. ❄️

Endless research suggests that friendship (described as those positive and routine social interactions with people we like) is as essential to our overall health as diet, exercise or sleep. They can even help us live longer. “These findings just seem to show up time and time again,” says James Coan a neuroscientist at the University of Virginia who studies the impact of social relationships on the brain.
The hypothalamus controls things like hunger and sleep and produces oxytocin, a “feel-good” hormone stored in the adjacent pituitary gland. Friendship interactions release oxytocin too. Beyond managing our moods, Coan believes that our brains evolved to rely on social resources like friendship. His Social Baseline Theory, published in 2015, argues that the human brain depends upon a sophisticated network of relationships to coordinate cognitive energies and accomplish shared goals, which he suggests is unique to humans. “We’re not particularly good at physically defending ourselves compared to other mammals. Friendship is a fundamental feature of how we have been shaped by natural selection to continually adapt and survive.” Bonus for everyone: gratitude also releases oxytocin. [Boston Globe, Matthew King, March 9, 2017]. .
