Another year, another list! After much deliberation I’m excited to reveal my top 50 tracks of 2017. All hail Rihanna for this soulfully sensual slice of perfection. I know too well that it was released the year prior as it was featured on my #1 album of that year, but it wasn’t until the start of 2017 that I properly clocked this track and boy it hit me when it hit me. Rihanna’s irresistibly cool vocals punch over the top of this synth rock power ballad. I’m pretty fascinated by it’s inception, having been co-penned by an infamous Yorkshire lass, Natalia Kills, together with RiRi and another hitmaker, Jeff Bhasker, who happened to also write my #5 track for Harry Styles.
I have to mention my runners-up as they were equally deserving of the top spot. Bicep at #2. A spectacular breakbeat track that beautifully captures the nostalgia of 90s rave culture. It feels like a soundtrack to the morning after the night before. I first heard it viewing the video, which really moved me as it was part-filmed on the bare streets of my hometown of Margate. Pretty mesmerising footage and a compelling story so definitely check it out if this track hits the spot for you.
#3 – Cut to the Feeling. Wow. Just wow. Has a song ever felt so good?? It’s innocent, euphoric, and unashamedly bursting with emotion. Seems Ms Jepsen has written two of the best pop songs of this century…
Some older tracks made their way in this year thanks to the nature of how we explore music these days. As ever, it’s an eclectic selection. Jump in and enjoy. Abs x

_________________________________________________ "I've always said my purpose is to inspire and empower the next generation to become great leaders – and to honor their hustle along the way," Diddy told @RollingStone. "In addition to passing the torch to French, I'm showing my support for the work he is doing in Uganda. Not only will Ciroc be donating $100,000 to support the organization Mama Hope, I am matching the donation so that our stories and successes can benefit as many people as possible."
French partnered with Global Citizen's #2BSTRONG Campaign and US-based non-proft Mama Hope to start the initiative last year. He and singer The Weeknd have both also donated $100,000 to helping— read more at TheShadeRoom.com!dr's_hehe - #regrann
