A good strong hot yoga class tonight. 🙏🏻 Im so pleased to be making flexibility and strength progress in my shoulder. Its not quite back to where it was, but its well on the way. I feel confident enough in it now to try some variations that i haven’t done for quite a while. 😊 Having said that making the contortions needed to get a sports bra on and off is still a challenge! 😂😂 We had some new yogis in the class tonight, hearing them chat afterwards made me realise that despite this year of the injured shoulder and my practice not progressing as much as id like, ive come a long way since i started. Im thankful for the reminder from those new yogis. #Repost @akashvaghela (@get_repost) ・・・ Today's #TransformationTuesday shoutout goes out to @djjoshuabane, who's one of the hardest training & consistent clients I work with. - I've been working with Josh for a while now, and we've been through multiple cycles of 'building' and 'leaning out'. A few months ago, after a long muscle building stretch, we decided to diet down for a local bodybuilding show, where he placed 2nd in the Master's division. - This was something neither of us expected at the start of his journey, but he's now caught the bug and wants to make serious improvements to his overall physique and look for next time. - We're keeping the focus on progressive overload with perfect form & mind muscle connection at all times. Josh was born with scoliosis and has multiple disc tears and herniations, so we've got to be careful with his exercise selection and programming to make sure he's able to stay progressive. This means making improvements in higher rep ranges, using slower tempos and opting for super joint friendly movements. - Training is at four days a week, with two days in the 6-12 rep range, and the other two days in the 10-30 rep range (we keep the reps high for his leg work due to his back issues). We've also started to include a lot of extreme stretching into his routine, which is beginning to pay dividends with both his posture and growth in his chest & back. Food is being pushed hard now.. and another 6-8 months of consistency on all fronts will have Josh holding onto a ton more lean tissue. Excited to see how this journey continues to unravel! - @rnt_fitness

I don't drink a HUGE amount of diet coke but I do drink it regularly. - There have been a fair few mentions of Diet Coke's sweetener, aspartame, causing cancer. The study this is based on was done in mice or rats if I remember reading correctly. - And to give yourself the same dosage of aspartame as those rodents had, you would need to drink SEVERAL HUNDRED cans of diet coke EVERY DAY! - I am not going to sit here and give you a blank slate to go and have unlimited amounts everyday because there are still better things out there for you but the chances of the aspartame giving you cancer are very low. - On the plus side - very low in calories (no, sadly it isn't zero calorie, but it is something like 3 calories per can so very very low), the bubbles can help fill you up which is useful when you're trying to keep on top of your calories, same for the caffeine, and there is no sugar. - On the down side, although aspartame carries a very low risk of causing cancer based on the studies, there can be other side effects. It can cause mood swings and the withdrawal symptoms can be pretty fierce as well. - And sometimes we can over do it on drinking it and end up with a bit too much caffeine floating around in our symptoms. - As with anything else, the key is in moderation and being sensible Simple as that.
