I've been put off running outside after dark for a while now but this little stretch is pretty light and plenty of cars going past so I'm definitely visible and hopefully I won't go missing!!! Wow.... Don't I look so happy with myself 😂 one day I won't be a miserable cow after a run. I'll be all happy that I can run and run well. I look forward to that day!! 😋 1.5miles (2.4km) scraped by in 14:00 minutes HOWEVER I went out with the intention to keep a 06:00 minute average pace and I managed that. There are 6 parts of this pyramid. The most important elements of your training program are at the bottom; notice that they have the largest area. These elements build the foundation of your training. - It is likely that ~80% of your progress is going to be made by focusing on these bottom three or four levels, and only the very small finishing touches will be affected by the last levels. Most of the time, our discussion in the final levels will primarily focus on how to just prevent you from doing something wrong. - Unlike The Nutrition Pyramid, the layers of The Training Pyramid are not as clear-cut and dry because of how interdependent the variables of training often are.

Throwback to the time when I used to care a lot about how my IG page looked. Here I was just ‘casually’ exercising on the streets of Amsterdam 😂 • For me it’s not worth investing time into making everything look perfect. In the end who cares?! Post physical therapy or workout essentials. As I've said before, because of my chronic neck pain, I can't do typical foam rolling because putting even the tiniest bit of weight on my arms send my neck into complete spasm. So I love my manual massage tools, The Stick, and my Addaday hand held roller (which is also great for traveling). I can out a good amount of pressure on these and get a great self massage, just like foam rolling but without putting weight on my arms

Monday 🍑 . . I was loving my breakfast! Keeping away from bread this week as I had way to much in the holidays! 😅 So wilted spinach, with tomatoes, chorizo and two poached eggs with a simple coffee ☕️ ☺️ . . Work was okay, I was very tired but powered through and headed to the gym 👍🏽 Squatting at 60kg, I know I can do more but right now I’m making sure my form is good and I’m comfortable with squatting a certain weight before I move up. I can 100% feel my quads getting stronger 😆 THEN my workout was ruined by Calum explaining to me how he had left his medical bag for his school camp trip on the bus which was on its way back to Edinburgh... so yep, last photo is a screenshot of my little bitemoji ALL THE WAY UP IN AVIEMORE 😡🤬 Safe to say Kaitlin was not happy 😅 I was so angry that I ended up eating my feelings on the way up and finished a whole bag of popcorn and nuggets and large chips from Burger King 😂😭 WAAAAY over my macros and fat intake but OH WELL. It happened. Safe to say I know I’d be making up for all of that that I ate over the rest of the week... I’m clearly too much of a caring girlfriend so let her boyfriend suffer... I guarantee a lot of you are making this mistake... reason being, I made this mistake and, occasionally, make it to this day. - Why though? - Why's it so easy to let the scale or measurements or progress photos or clothes dictate how successful we are? - I feel it's all tied to how we *think* about fitness. - You see, most people get motivated to lose weight or build muscle for the end goal. They envision themselves 50 pounds lighter or with a six pack and make that the primary reason for getting started. - Don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look better and feel more confident. But the truth is you don't have a lot of control over how quickly or slowly physical changes manifest. - What you DO have control over is how consistently you execute on the things that lead to making progress. - You can't control how quickly the scale drops, but you can control how adherent you are to your nutrition plan. G’morning friends! : There have been countless heavy days, days I have been a walking tombstone, my feet too heavy to feel the ground days I have sunk into my own body so far I needed to contact a search party to find my own voice There wasn’t a search party available most days I found that often times the people wearing the red capes that I thought were coming to save me were the very ones giving the enemy my whereabouts I cannot even store in one room the amount of times I felt too big for my own bones, took up too much space, stepped on toes when I hand’t even stepped outside I thought if I laid still for long enough people would forget life would be lighter for them, with less of my heavy, less of my miserable, less of my I can’t do this I have always wanted it to be lighter for them Most days my hands shake from all the things I hold I do not know how to be someone who heals gently I do not know how to take the bandaids off of my heart, or where to put them if I do I do not know how to trust a heart that hasn’t been broken  And I do not know how to hear a voice without hearing its hundreds of echoes- sharing all the ways it really feels There are pieces of me hidden under opinions I don’t want to hear and I’ve never dug up a time capsule that wasn’t a loaded gun I am figuring out what it means to let go but the thing I’m best at is holding on I feel like I’m burying things that are still alive to me, and a grave is no place for a living thing : That right there is why I am the way I am as a person. I’ve grown. I’ve learned. I’ve overcome obstacles I never thought I could and I’m sure I will have to overcome many more. Life is too short not to enjoy every moment we can. You know... they want to lose X pounds, lose fat, lose inches, fit into size whatever jeans... all that good stuff. - And while there ain’t nothin’ wrong with having those goals, the problem comes when you start investing all of your expectation and motivation into achieving those things. - Reason being, they’re volatile. - Sure, you can set your diet and exercise up in a way to lose weight and/or build muscle, but you really don’t have much control over how quickly (or slowly) your body decides to change. - You see, that’s what ultimately fails most people. They don’t feel like the results they see match the effort they’re putting in. Or maybe they don’t see progress at all and lose the drive to keep going. - Here’s the truth of the situation. The salad: -one chicken breast -bacon (2 rashes) -pasta (two handfuls) -crunchy salad (mainly lettuce and carrots) -ceasar dressing (just a little, that's the unhealthiest bit) ..
