Overhead squat, what is it good for, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, I joke, I joke it’s a great exercise. If you are looking to increase flexibility in your shoulders, increased strength in your core and legs, come no further, this is the exercise for you. 💪💪💪 - Keep in mind this is an advanced exercise so you may have to build up to it by just using a broomstick or similar for techniques sake. 😊😊☺️ - With that being said, lets break down the do’s and do not’s illustrated in the above photo. ✔️ - Here are the cues from the first photo that indicate poor technique. No arch in the spine which is indicative poor core strength/activity, lower back is rounded also indicative of poor core strength/activity, hands are too far forward from centre line (feet, chest head) showing poor technique and postural control. ✋❌❌❌ - These are the cues from the correct photo. The weight (hands) is in line with my feet (good technique), arch in the spine, no lower back rounding, chest is up and facing forward. ✔️✔️✔️ - Now there are many more ques we could worry about from many other angles, however, from a lateral view, these are the main do’s and don’ts we should concern ourselves with. 🤨🤨🤨✔️✔️✔️ - I hope youre all crushing it today on your Monday, I know I feel really tired from the weekend just past, so im trying my best to steam through the rest of the day with posts for you beautiful people and some programming for clients. Sunday #morning #swe#sweat sesh ✌🏻💦 First was 10' on this new #elliptical / #arctrainer combo machine (s/o to #gol#goldsgym for investing in all brand new #cardio equipment 😍) which was a great warmup Then 20 min #liss on the stationary #bike Followed by my full #abs routine and 2 sets of normal #planks w/ leg lifts 30 min #stairmaster steady state to finish off Overall this was a good session.
