Leg day at the gym...can already tell I’m going to be so sore 😅 warped the day up with stretching and some foam rolling. Shout out to the awesome fluorescent lighting 😂 had to throw that last picture in there cause addy wanted to show off the booty gains too 🐶 thanks @desb___ for the 8 weeks of killer workouts! The challenge is almost up, and while I’m not where I wanted to be, I know I’ll get there if I stay consistent. Just have to trust the process. At this point my physical gains are not that astronomical; my mental gains though are everything I had hoped for. Instead of focusing on and loving how I look, I’m loving everything my body is capable of now. To my girls, thanks again for the love and support! Hit chest and back today. My goal is really to make sure I can concentrate on each movement so I can target the right muscles. I used to be one of those ego > form, and I would lean way back doing lat pull downs or not plant my feet into the ground during straight arm pull downs. - - But that’s when my progress would stall - - I’m anxious to look back in 30 days and hopefully see more definition in my back and my arms. Workout Wednesday ➡️ HIIT Style 👊 — Swipe & Save this one and I promise you won’t regret it🔥 I love adding this HIIT Circuit in after an upper body day to really get that heart rate up! — Perform the circuit 4 times through 40 seconds on with a 10 second rest between moves: . 1️⃣BANDED IN-OUT SQUATS: For these pick a band that has enough resistance so you feel the burn but does NOT cause your knees to buckle inwards! Keep the band right above you’re knees and jump between narrow and wide stance staying in squat position . 2️⃣PLANK TAPS: In plank position alternate bringing one arm up to “tap” your shoulder. For these the KEY is to keep your HIPS STEADY!! Engage your core so your hips are not rocking back and forth . 3️⃣STEP OVERS: For these keep your body centered over the step and make sure you’re tapping the step with both feet as you go over it . 4️⃣LAWN MOWERS: Switch arms halfway through the 40 second work period. Not too much to say today besides I am so happy that I found another passion in fitness. For a while, I have felt like teaching was my only calling and that it was the only thing I was passionate about. Then I got into weightlifting and macros, and learning about the science behind it and I've become really interested in it! I've never been much of a science person TBH, but there's something about this lifestyle that gets me excited to learn more about it. _ If I would have found my passion for fitness earlier in my life, then who knows.... I may not have gone to school for teaching! However, I am glad that I have found something else that I'm passionate about and I'm looking forward to eventually becoming certified as a personal trainer (one I'm done with my current master's program). _ This isn't just a fad or a trend for me-- I believe that it's another calling for me. But I made it, knocked my workout before work, and fit in some core so overall the day was a success. Also was able to meal prep and set myself up for some success tonight! 100% of you wanted a transformation post today... so here it is 👏🏼👏🏼 _ Decided to go with a face and 🍑 transformation today. Swipe for 🍑 transformation. I never really felt the need to grow one... just tone it up a bit, and judging from those two pictures, I think I've achieved my goal of doing just that👌🏼👏🏼 _ I seriously say this all the time, but I can't even begin to explain how this fitness community has changed my life! I'm so glad I decided to invest in myself and reach out to a coach (@tayraefit ). _ TBH the picture on the left of my #facetoface transformation was not from the beginning of my fitness journey. It was from my vacation in August, which was only 3 months into my fitness journey. I was starting to lose a little weight in my face. The picture on the right is from a couple weeks ago, which is 5-6 months later! I haven't really looked at a face to face comparison, but 😱😱 _ PROGRESS TAKES TIME. I'm guilty of wanting progress right away. I've learned the hard way that there is definitely NO QUICK FIX. I will forever be an advocate for weightlifting and macros. I'm seriously so excited thinking about how my body will transform in the next 5-6 months!👏🏼🙌🏼💪🏼🤗 _ Oh by the way, from June-now, I've eaten ALL OF THE FOOD. I have not restricted carbs or fats. I have not only eaten whole foods . I have treated myself many many times, yet I still was able to make progress. I've literally NEVER been happier with where I am in my life. Let’s talk MENTALITY ✨ — This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately after hearing some of the people that motivate me touch on it (shoutouts to @nickkomodina @coffee_and_commandos @des@desb___ @buffbunny ) — Ask yourself this: Are you holding yourself back without even realizing it?! Not sure of the answer? Let’s put it this way: . ⚡️Are you making a conscious effort to up your weights each week? ⚡️Do you finish your reps/sets and honestly CANNOT do any more? ⚡️If your programming says 8-10 reps of a move are you using a weight that only allows you to get that 8? “There’s literally nothing good that can come from being upset about it. So get back on the horse and crush it this week” - - I spent most of the day beating myself up about this past weekend. I drank and ate too much. I really haven’t tracked since last Tuesday. I was up basically 8lbs from the week prior, and I just found myself questioning if I deserve to represent Des. If I deserve to have people “be inspired by me.” If I deserve to be in the position I am in. - - But it was one weekend. And I had fun. And now it’s over. And it’s up to me to decide if I keep those 8lbs on and if I continue to gain more. It’s also my decision to reach out to my support system and my coach and ask for accountability and help to turn my mindset around and crush these next 2 weeks before the arnold. - - I almost unicorned my macros and did a good arm workout and 9 miles of cardio.
