Day 5 Leg Day. 75 Days to go! Have you ever done something long enough for it to really make a difference? This is the real deal. Our Trainer got so much flack saying no one will do an 80 day program and especially if most are 30-60 mins long (mostly closer to 60). But she was determined to do it because she knew she needed more time with people to really make the changes they want. So she did it and created the Timed Nutrition Plan to boot. This is my gym, this is my trainer, this is my workout partner. This is all I need to get in the best shape of my life, which for me that is NOT about a number on a scale. It’s all about being healthy and strong! I get to focus on being obsessed with my health and happiness while still being 100% mom to this little boy who depends on me for everything. As you can see he also happens to love pressing play with me. Progressions for pull-ups! For more information on each move read it’s number below! . 1. Hanging Shrugs. These are great to learn how to active those lats! It’s a small movement but hit 3 sets of 10 nice and slow and you’ll be feeling it tomorrow! 2. 30-second hold. Try holding your chin right above the bar and holding for 30 seconds. If you can’t, try 3 sets of 10 seconds and work your way up! 3. Negatives. Find a STURDY chair (or box like me), step up to bring your chin above the bar, hold there for 1-2 seconds before lowering yourself for a 3 second count. At first, you will get to a point where you just can’t control your speed and drop. That’s ok as long as you’re safe and not falling off the bar. Start with 3 sets of 5 and slowly increase reps over time. 4. Assisted. ❤️ SAFTEY CUE: any time you use bands check it for small tears so it doesn’t snap on you while you’re working. They wear over time so it’s important to keep an eye on them. Also, make sure the bar you are practicing on is anchored and sturdy enough! I only put one foot in the band so I always have one leg to easily step down without getting tied up and falling. Practice getting in and out safely. You can use larger bands like the one I have but I also highly recommend the Chin Up Max. ❤️ The larger the band (or the more bands), the more assistance you will get in your pull-up. I use the 1/2” band next to show a more difficult option. 5. The last one is a combination. First, figure out which step you’re on and work there. If you can’t do the recommended reps yet do as many as you can for the set and work on strength training as well. If you are somewhere between these band options I recommend starting with the one that provides you with the least amount of assistance but you can still perform at least 1 rep (if you can get 1 unassisted, start there!). Do as many as you can with good form and then work backwards to the next option. That might be a band that provides more assistance (or more bands for the Chin Up Max), or it might be working negatives. Every set start by practicing the hardest one you can do first and then finish of the reps with lower options. Any questions? Shout them out! 👇

Today is my favorite day...Friday AND leg day! 💪 Day 5/80 is here!! I can't believe I'm almost done the first week. I definitely pushed myself in this 45 min workout and worked up a sweat. Happy Friday Y'all! I'm loving my workout buddy during my new workout routine schedule! For a long time I've made my kids my reason, and not my excuse. It took some adjusting in what I was doing for fitness, but that adjusting has left me in the best shape of my life. Sometimes it just takes figuring out what works for you and making it happen! For me it's working out from home. It makes me more consistent because I have something to follow and it makes me feel less mom guilt!! They are often right there with me, or just a few steps having quality time with dad upstairs.
