He put her through hell and she called it love !
Take a moment..breathe and think ..
Apparently, being married means you cannot be raped.. After all its your husbands birth right.. A country where a girl cannot file a complaint towards her husbans for raping her?
Sometimes we refuse to see how bad something is until it completely destroys us!!
It is a sign of a weak man who needs to crush a woman in order to feel more powerful..
These abusers are able to fool those outside the home because they can only abuse those inside the home!!
All it takes is a fake smile to hide an injured soul and they will never notice how broken she really is..
She asked for the respect she deserved
She is desired yet she is deprived
And she finally gives up.. Dropped the fake smile as a tear ran down her cheek and she whispered to herself "i cant take this anymore"!!
Delhi Build Days 8 & 9 - Celebration, Tears, Inspiration and Impact
Our time here is coming to an end. It’s so bittersweet. I can’t wait for a hot shower, clean air and a giant salad but I am sad to leave. India, especially the people of Bawana, have touched me in a way I never thought possible.
We partially completed three homes for three incredibly grateful and hardworking families.
We celebrated with a little shopping in the local street market buying bangles, scarves and spices. We also received henna tattoos (Mehendi)has a color party (Holi) and had a really fun night out.
The very last day was full of dancing, blessings and tears....more tears than I was expecting or ever had on a build.
I can’t even put in to words the impact this community and this entire build has had on me. We have had the best team and grateful families that will soon have a decent and safe home.
Mashuda, the homeowner we built for is so beautiful and today, we really seemed to bond. She started out so shy, and by the time we left, we were hugging and crying. Though we didn’t speak the same language, we understood. Sometimes words just aren’t necessary. As I boarded the bus, she gave me a scarf that I will treasure forever.
It’s crazy, how we just came to this place, that no one has ever heard of, spent two weeks immersed in their culture and, I feel like, made some sort of difference to them; I know they made one to us. They made a huge one.
People often ask why we do this and that it seems like an inefficient way to build. To that I say, “I can schlep masala (cement) like nobody’s business!”. But more importantly, we share our worlds. I can’t tell you how many people in Bawana told us that we inspired them to learn English and to help others and to know that there is more in this world than their community. That’s just the tip of the iceberg in a world community..... A Global Village. 🌏
Thank you for following this journey with me. It meant so much that so many of you went along with me.
It's always easier to say, "Be the change you wish to see." In reality, when you try it, you go through this incredible process of transformation where you go from a all complainer mode to a doer mode. That's when you even come to realize how it rationalize your demands were at times.
Instead of making demands of a more beautiful life, set out to create a DIY beautiful life that will suit your life.
Through this journey you'll learn how life is more beautiful in living, than just imagining. .
Smoking kills and so does plastic! For example turtles, seals, birds, fish, whales and dolphins. It's estimated that at least 100 million marine mammals are killed each year from plastic pollution. What easy switches can you make today to reduce your use of plastic? #WePickUpPlastic

My entire @Sea@Sea_Legacy team was pushing through their tears and emotions while documenting this dying polar bear. It’s a soul-crushing scene that still haunts me, but I know we need to share both the beautiful and the heartbreaking if we are going to break down the walls of apathy. This is what starvation looks like. The muscles atrophy. No energy. It’s a slow, painful death. When scientists say polar bears will be extinct in the next 100 years, I think of the global population of 25,000 bears dying in this manner. There is no band aid solution. There was no saving this individual bear. People think that we can put platforms in the ocean or we can feed the odd starving bear. The simple truth is this—if the Earth continues to warm, we will lose bears and entire polar ecosystems. This large male bear was not old, and he certainly died within hours or days of this moment. But there are solutions. We must reduce our carbon footprint, eat the right food, stop cutting down our forests, and begin putting the Earth—our home—first. Please join us at @sea@sea_legacy as we search for and implement solutions for the oceans and the animals that rely on them—including us humans. Thank you your support in keeping my @sea_legacy team in the field. With @CristinaMittermeier#turningthetide with @Sea_Legacy #bethechange#nature#naturelovers

Not the best side by side, but I was comparing these two versions of me out loud to my husband just now and needed the visual. .
The picture on the left was my honeymoon. When I first went looking for a wedding dress 8 months before my wedding date the sample size I tried on was 4 sizes bigger then the actual dress I bought. The lady at the store suggested that I don’t by it that small because she said most brides don’t drop that many dress sizes before the wedding. I cut calories WAY more then I should have, skipped a lot of meals and lived off of diet soda. When I went in to have it fitted they needed to take it in. I showed her right?! Wrong! I showed myself the unhealthy way of loosing weight. I quickly started to put it back on and before I knew it I didn’t recognize the girl in the mirror. .
Fast forward 7 yrs later and we have the picture on the right. Now these two bodies are very similar in size. Actually I was they same size in both! I was a size 4. The SAME DRESS SIZE!!! But guess what?! I was 12 lbs heavier in the picture on the left! Don’t let a scale dictate how you feel about yourself! Muscle is way more dense then fat!! Strong is so much sexier then skinny!!
What you mostly see is a snapshot of someone’s journey. A moment of suffering. A breakthrough PB. The end result of a goal being achieved or accomplished.
But a quick glimpse never tells the full story.
And that’s why I’m privileged to help write the books.
