Day 5, the final day, of the #sta#standupandshinelenge with @theshineproject
This quote by Rumi is one of my favorites and I chose to share it for my reflection on what’s impacted me the most because when we stand in our light and power, we can’t help but step into our own greatness and the places that call us to be a force for good. 💛💫
I was thinking earlier today about a time I told one of my biggest dreams to my dad and instead of being excited or proud, as I’d hoped he’d be, he immediately went to the place of it being too big and difficult to accomplish. I was so hurt in that moment. I did eventually achieve my dream and sadly, he wasn’t there to see it.
What I have since realized is that everyone has their own perception of what they can and can’t do, what’s possible for their lives and what isn’t based on their own experiences, upbringing, life perspective, the wounds they carry and the people they surround themselves with. And sometimes we take on their beliefs as our own. When they say life is hard, we will never be seen for who we are, it’s not possible to be truly happy, daring greatly invites failure and all the other stories they tell themselves, they do not have to become our stories. They do not have to infringe on what we know to be true for ourselves, to scatter our dreams or dim our light.
We can write our own stories. Unfold our own myth. And we do so by standing, fully and unapologetically, in the light of who we are.✨🌟
#faith is visualizing the future. It’s believing it before you see it. I believe it 📸: @ianspanier
Day 6: Future Friday: I plan on attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale next year to study Agriculture Business. I’m pumped to see what college has in store for me! Go Salukis! #ilffaweek18#bebold#section14
Feeling anxious? Need a quick fix? Find your happy place 🌴 it can be somewhere you have been, somewhere you go often, or somewhere you never been. All you need to do is to be able to envision it. Feel it, smell it, taste it, see it, hear it. Use your 5 sense to place yourself there. Your body will respond. It will calm down.
FFA week is coming to an end, but for my career success I will be attending SIC this fall, then transferring to SIU Carbondale to major in Agricultural Education. FFA has helped me develop leadership skills and qualities, which will help me in my future career. #ilffaweek18#bebold#agteacherlife
