• @lastlapinsider MENCS AT KANSAS - THE BIG ONE INVOLVING JONES, MCMURRAY AND KENSETH: On the restart with 70 laps remaining in today's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series cutoff race at Kansas Speedway, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch battled for the lead entering Turn 1 with #ErikJones trying to defend Chase Elliott for third. As Jones was exiting Turn 2, his car snapped sideways forcing him to overcorrect, sending him into the outside safer barrier. #DanielSuarez in the No. 19 Toyota, had nowhere to go as he and the No. 77 made heavy contact resulting in both cars lifting off the ground.
Along with Jones and Suarez, #JamieMcMurray, #MattKenseth, #JoeyLogano, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman, Aric Almirola, Danica Patrick and Austin Dillon were all involved in this scary accident.
And again just like last weekend at Talladega, #DaleEarnhardtJr. was in the middle of the action but squeezed through without any scratch or dent.
As Kenseth was sitting on pit road getting repairs done to his No. 20 Toyota, there were too many men over the wall making repairs to his car forcing NASCAR to give them a huge penalty. The rule states that if you are on the five minute clock and have too many men over the wall, you will be parked for the remainder of the race. This costly mistake by the No. 20 team ultimately wiped Matt Kenseth's championship hopes away.
