The Pennsylvania Supreme Court put out their proposal for Pennsylvania's 18 congressional districts (Picture 1), it's likely to be challenged by Republican lawmakers. You can compare it to the past proposals made and the original. The original is the 4th picture, the 3rd is the Republican proposal, and the 2nd was proposed by Pennsylvania govenor Tom Wolf, after he rejected the Republican proposal on the 16th.
Wow so the Black Panther movie is literally about making the Black Panther Party (more info here: http://bit.ly/2BDK4Ov), Marxist Internationalism (http://bit.ly/2oiHViN) and Third Worldism (http://bit.ly/2ENcrfd) seem evil while entirely recuperating the CIA.
Without going into spoilers, the first half of the film features some incredible moments in terms of representational politics including, most powerfully, a beautiful depiction of what Africa would be like if it wasn't for the ongoing legacy of colonialism and 'interventions' by the west on the continent. It pairs this vision with current realities such as the Libyan slave trade which is currently occurring as a result of the Obama administration assassinating their government and destabilizing the country (more info here: http://bit.ly/2sIq8r0)
This all takes a turn for the worse though, as the film's villian is introduced. Here, the film makes an exceptionally cruel caricature of Black American Radicals (even featuring images of Huey P. Newton, one of the founders of the BPP) and makes one of the two white characters, a CIA operative, into a sympathetic nice guy.
In an incredible achievement in double-think style propaganda, the film actually attempts to say that the ongoing imperialist wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and all over Africa, every government that has been toppled by the CIA there and elsewhere (here is a list of some: http://bit.ly/2zUrUo8) is the fault of those who were fighting against it in the 60s and 70s. Even further, it promotes a Richard Spencer-esque idea that poor African Americans in Oakland are the responsibility of African nations, a line that is often promoted by those who promote a white ethno state. And just for some icing on the cake, it makes the case for further exploiting Africa's already brutally over exploited natural resources.
And all of this is couched in a film with positive and empowering representations of black people that have never made it to the big screen before.
Easily one of the most sophisticated peices of propaganda I've ever seen.
NIGER STATE :
“I have no intention of defecting to the APC because I believe in the PDP. I had the opportunity of decamping to the APC when I led the G-7 Governors but did not do so because of my belief in the PDP.
“What we protested then was to correct some of the abnormality in PDP but not to defect to the APC.
“If I were a selfish politician then I will have defected to the APC then. May be I would have become a minister now,’’ he said.
He noted that the PDP made him a governor, saying that it was a strong political party if not for internal wrangling that made it to lose the 2015 election.
The former governor said that the party had started working toward correcting the wrongs at the various levels.
On the herders/farmers clashes across the country, he said that the Federal Government must tag it a security concern and plan how to stop it.
He advised the government to establish cattle ranches where necessary and carry the stakeholders along in order to avoid misunderstanding that would result in more clashes. (NAN)
A word on economic policy. Ling post ahead (Taxed from @american.cowboyist)
After exploring both communism and capitalism, one can come to the conclusion that both are miserable for their own reasons. Fortunately, there is another way: Syndicalism/Corporatism, as system that appears to take the best of both. In summary, each industry is run by a Syndicate or Corporation (hence the two names). Anyone who partakes in the industry must first be part of the syndicate, and together, the group decides on prices and manufacturing standards, among other things, for their product. It is comparable to the guild systems of old. Syndicalism/Corporatism still allows for competition and growth, but helps equalize each industry and prevent monopoly. It has been utilized by Fascist governments in the past, such as Francoist Spain.
