Since coming back from Mexico nearly 2 years ago, and especially after Houston after Hurricane Harvey, I have been learning how to have fewer and change my relationship with material possessions. During #megarelief in Houston in September, one of the items available for fundraising was a One Thing book signed by the authors, and I thought “This is one thing I know will benefit many people, myself included”. So I purchased my 2nd copy of #theonething and I am SO excited. Not only is it signed by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan, yet it is personalized for me. This is definitely one of my most prized possessions now, more importantly because I only received it by donating to help others. #lifeworthliving#kellerwilliams#kw
As I look down on my arm, I find myself wearing three bracelets lately. Not necessarily a fashion statement, just three silicon bracelets created for three unrelated events. Just a quick glance down my arm and they've become constant reminders. Each with their own significance and unique meaning to me. Each one being a continual reminder to not only remember but to live what the bracelet represents to me. They are bracelets of love, hope, perseverance, resilience, integrity, gratitude and strength. They are bracelets meaning live life to the fullest, to help other's when possible, to show up for others, to always be improving, that life gives us many lessons and it's how we deal with those lessons that determines the direction of lives. Three bracelets that represent the direction of my life. #macdonstrong#megarelief#bold#comefromcontribution#live#life#love#grateful ❤️💙

Taken from the FB album... “Welp, before 8/22/17, it never occurred to me that I would do a daily solo #FBlive (sometimes twice a day) for weeks upon weeks upon weeks... & we're still going too. I'm learning so much about people, what they need, how much they want to help, what they want to know ... and how generous people are in so many ways!!! Oh, and I'm learning about more technology... #WinWin !
Thank you to everyone who has been with us & continues to view, comment, share, & take action ... it matters to the individual human beings that need our help through these devastating fires, hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes & more fires, hurricanes, flooding & earthquakes... *Side note: leading up to (starting 8/22), during & after Mega Relief, I've now done a total of 99 Crisis Update FB Lives (blink blink) with approx 96,000 views (as of 9/26). Turns out, people want to know things.
Especially when they care!!! -----
On 9/3/17, a week before I was scheduled to go to Austin, I got a call from contacts in Austin to come help with specific tasks for the Houston relief efforts.
So, I hopped on a plane that day, landed that night & helped behind the scenes for a week.
On 9/11/17, participated in my pre-hurricane scheduled class: the powerful & impactful #InstructorDevelopmentWorkshop with Dick Dillingham & the masterful Gene McNaughton.
Huge props to Stacia Thompson, Dawn Sroka, Antoinette Perez Mona Covey the whole team for somehow making it happen in the midst of the largest natural disaster in Texas & the largest kw pivot in the history of the company
And, the next day we started kw #Meg#MegaRelief (the event formerly known as Mega Camp). #CultureInAction and we got to see lives change in front of our eyes!
At KW Mega Relief doing Hurricane Harvey relief work (assembling care packages complete with pillows, blakets, wipes, personal hygiene kits, hand-written notes of love/support, and more). #hurricaneharvey#kellerwilliams#megarelief
Thank you @kwsiliconbeach for allowing me to share the experience I had at #megarelief last week in #austin
Keller Williams turned what should have been a conference for us agents into a relief effort. We aided those negatively impacted by Hurricane Harvey and were able to accomplish the following: •Contribute to a combined 60,000+ hours of work
• Clean/De-Muck over 150 homes in Katy and Sealy Texas
• Distribute 10,000 pounds of food
• Assemble 5,000 clean-up kits
Last week I got to see first hand what #KellerWilliams is all about. From the core this is a company that puts others first and promotes a positive culture. The growth I've had in the past few years both professionally and personally is a direct result of #kw culture. Thank you for helping me make a positive impact on this world.
Who we choose to do business with comes down to many levels for people. THIS is why I choose to do business with #KW. When 4000 people can come together in 1 week for a combined 60,000 hours that says something. I thank KW for creating an avenue for me to take to help in the way I was compelled to do. It isn't about money or "splits"...it is about what you bring to the table in this world we all live in.
Last week we had the honor of joining thousands of fellow Keller Williams associates in Texas to provide immediate aid for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We are so grateful to be part of this family. Thank you @kellerwilliamsrealty for giving us the incredible opportunity to be part of the relief effort! #MegaRelief#KW
Having the opportunity to take time away from work and volunteer last week in Houston to help some of those in need affected by #hurricaneharvey as part of #kellerwilliams Mega Relief is one of the many reasons it is a joy to be a part of the KW Team. What an absolute humbling experience; we will never forget what we saw and will always be grateful we were able to help in any way. #theramseyteam#megarelief (Taken with The Ramsey Team's transaction coordinator, Lisa Darrah, who was able to volunteer with me.)
"This is just a house. My husband and I make it a home. We have each other and our crazy dog, so life is good." -Kathy Murdoch // We helped clear out Kathy's house in Sealy, TX during #MegaRelief. Read more of Kathy's story through the link in our bio.
"I’m feeling thankful nothing happened to my family and that Keller Williams sent a lot of people to help us. Also, for the church. We’ve been blessed. Going through this alone would be very difficult." -Jorge Perez // We helped clear out Jorge and Justin's house in Sealy, TX during #MegaRelief. "The only reason we got out was because we were scared we were going to get stuck. After I found out it flooded, I thought, God just wants to clean my house again." -Ofelia Montoya // We helped clear out Ofelia's house in Sealy, TX during #MegaRelief.
