He's been craving this for two weeks now. Spicy sweet potato soup making dreams come true on this fine Saturday 😎 Cheers to getting after what you want 👊 and making your dreams become reality! #lifeafterwhole30
One of the ways I replenish my love cup is by having at least 1 whole day a month where I do WHAT. EVER. I feel like, checking in from moment to moment to see what I reeeally feel like doing.. totally fluid.. total permission.. no schedule no agenda no ‘to do’s’ just me in my own little happy pleasure bubble.. it’s so fun to see where I end up!
This day began with a very slow pajama morning, tarot podcast in the shower, dancing around my room in my underwear, meditation and journaling on the sacral chakra for @wild_and_good#luminousearthacademy then experimenting with some exceedingly good raw chocolate fudge..!!! I had expected I’d want to go for a walk in the crisp sunshine but what can I tell you, the heart wants what it wants and who am I to judge 🤷🏻♀️
I think this fudge may result in a return to my blog.. who would love the recipe? I hope your all having a beautiful weekend 🖤
Finally intro’ed the kids to rabbit food 🙊 ... and they loved it! Thank the heavens. Veggie city feh sho!! Romaine, peppers, avo, tomato, carrots, no-junk ham, shredded cheese, lemon juice, EVOO, salt/pepp/gahhhlic. Called it “adult salad” and they were thrilled heh heh heh.
It’s a perfect afternoon to enjoy a superfood smoothie bowl on the porch! What’s in my #smoothiebowl, you ask? My go-to smoothie has frozen baby power greens (spinach, kale and chard), steamed then frozen cauliflower, frozen banana, mango and strawberry blend, a big scoop of @julianbakery paleo eggwhite protein and @vitalproteins collagen peptides, MCT oil, a touch of raw honey, and just enough coconut water to make it blend in my Nutribullet. Today’s bowl is topped with Trader Joe’s grain-free granola, crushed almonds, chia seeds, peaches, and unsweetened coconut flakes.
Meal 1: lamb chops, baked potato, and brussel sprouts with cauliflower
Well, hello beautiful 😍 Superfood Muesli Bowl🍓 at the Picnik Burnet restaurant.⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's filled with raw rolled oats, goldenberries, mulberries, currants, golden raisins, apricots, hemp seed, coconut, cinnamon, berries, and pomegranate with a local honey drizzle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Option for dairy-free cashew milk or whole milk. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
**This breakfast is vegan if you choose cashew milk or lacto-ovo with milk.
I am so saddened by all the years that I feared the beautiful avocado 🥑 ! I remember when I would go to restaurants I would always tell the waiter to hold the avocado, because I thought it had too much fat, which I thought would then make me fat.... oh how wrong I was😝! Avocados are our friend😍! The healthy monounsaturated fats that are in avocados, which by the way is actually a fruit, helps us feel full and satiated🎉! Avocados are also incredible for digestive health due to the wonderful source of fiber which nourishes our gut😋! Eat your 🥑#nutritionist #avocadolove#nourishing3

Some of the essential jerrfffyyyyy produce purchases here. My roomie and I split the bill and go grocery shopping every 10-12 days. We rarely eat out because it's usually a bit of a disappointment for the price/serving compared to the delish feasts we make at home lol
I get a good amount of my carbohydrates from fruits (lots of frozen berries too) because I enjoy them, but I also eat a lot of potatoes, jasmine rice, beans, and quinoa (which all have a skosh of protein as well). Avocados are an epic source of healthy fats and I use them for everything. Usually eat 1/2-1 per day.
Also, cabbage FOR DAYS. It is on the EPA's clean fifteen (has a low pesticide count), it is cheap AF, and it is a nutrient dense cruciferous vegetable. Chop it up and serve raw or cooked, add some to anything. I love dat shit. #jerf#justeatrealfood#foodismedicine#cabbage#vegetables#fruits#kfitpro
A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY WE READ FOOD LABELS 👇🏻
Notice pic 1️⃣. You see the word “WILD” highlighted at the top. You see the word, “ALASKAN”. But we don’t just look at marketing labels on the front, right?? WE CHECK INGREDIENTS.
Pic 2️⃣. Ingredients: Wild Salmon. 👍🏻
Pic 3️⃣. We see the description, “FRESH ATLANTIC SALMON” and might think to ourselves, “The Atlantic is an ocean, sounds good!” However, in smaller print we read, “Norwegian Farm Raised”. Well that’s a bummer! We know wild caught is always better than farm raised.
Pic 4️⃣. Ingredients: Atlantic Salmon (color added). 👎🏻👎🏻 Farm raised salmon doesn’t have the same look as wild salmon, so often color is added to make it more “pink”. ☹️
Moral of the story: ALWAYS CHECK YOUR INGREDIENTS.
Everything we eat has an environmental footprint. It takes land, water and energy to grow crops and raise livestock.
Even if you don't give up on red meat and animal product consumption entirely, just cutting back can significantly impact your diet's carbon footprint.
Eating #PlantBased, even just a few days a week, can lessen your carbon footprint dramatically, more so than driving a #Prius or #Tesla!
And when it comes to destroying our bodies while eating meat and junk, remember that our Paleolithic ancestors were not eating animals every day! We ate animals occasionally, after running and hunting them down! (We’re designed to be able to survive off of plants, nuts and seeds)
If the health of our planet isn’t a big enough motivator for you to choose veg over meat, than at least do it for YOUR health 💚🙏🏼💫 #ConsciousLiving#EthicalEating
What does your weekend routine look like? For me it's usually rolling out of bed after being woken up by snuggles and kisses from @aurithewoof (and some groaning from her for me to wake up because she's hungry, dang it!). After taking care of Auri, I love to take my weekend mornings slowly. ☕
Usually I'm sipping on coffee from my mug that says "I woke up like this" and channeling my inner Bey, so I feel ready to take on the day - okay...that's a bit dramatic. I'm usually way too groggy to channel my inner Bey first thing in the morning, but I can try!
After my coffee, my morning can go one of two ways. I'm either off to the gym to have a caffeine-fueled workout, or I'm whipping up something delicious to eat!
Today it's the gym, but I'm DREAMING of these Paleo Blueberry & Almond Scones. I make them with only five ingredients that I always keep in my house! Find the recipe through the link in my bio.
Warm chia pudding (chia seeds, unsweetened cashew milk, cacao powder, ground flax) topped with some banana and cinnamon. Now off for a morning filled with lots of grocery shopping (by myself! 😜🙌🏼) happy Saturday!#
The oldest asked for crackers with peanut butter & I thought, that sounds good! So I spread some almond butter on leftover bacon. No guilt at all; this was scrumptious! 😉🥓🥜
Introduced myself to @ketoincanada at the screening of The Magic Pill in Toronto. So fun when you meet your Instagram heroes in the real world. This woman has over 75k followers and has been on an incredible weight loss and healthy journey following low carb/ keto. Thanks for the chat girl! #ketomeetupto
This statistic is just crazy. But you almost can’t blame people because sugar is hiding in EVERYTHING, even things labeled as “health foods.” Did you know some studies have shown that sugar is more addictive than cocaine?
Read your labels. Know what’s in the food you’re eating. The FDA has implemented a new rule that will require food companies to specify the amount of “added sugars,” i.e. sugars that do not occur naturally in the product. You may have even seen this already on some labels. 🙌🏻 For reference, 4g of sugar = 1 tsp. (Daily recommendation for women is 25g or less. For men, it’s 37.5g or less.) Also, did you know that ingredients on food labels are listed in descending order by volume? So if sugar (or one of the other 60+ names for sugar) is listed towards the beginning of the ingredients, that’s usually a bad sign.
