Regrann from @freedom_faction - A company called #TributeContracting LLC, which is owned by fashionista Dr. Tiffany Brown received a $156 million contract from the #FederalEmergencyManagementAgency (#FEMA) to deliver 30 million meals to #PuertoRico in the aftermath of #HurricaneMaria, but she only delivered 50,000.
According to her website, Brown's company, a minority-owned government consulting firm, has had three FEMA Contracts worth millions of dollars.
In addition to her LLC and being an author, she also owns the following: • Tiffany Brown Designs- women’s clothing line
• Tiffany Brown Holdings Inc.- Consulting firm that has five divisions: entertainment, vending, radio, food, nonprofit management and book publishing
• Luxe Fuel- A beverage delivery software app
She obviously has no problem in taking in money and finding ways to make it.
However, she took on a contract worth millions in #taxpayerdollars and failed to deliver.
The New York Times has the story:
The mission for the Federal Emergency Management Agency was clear: Hurricane Maria had torn through Puerto Rico, and hungry people needed food. Thirty million meals needed to be delivered as soon as possible.
For this huge task, FEMA tapped Tiffany Brown, an #Atlanta entrepreneur with no experience in large-scale disaster relief and at least five canceled government contracts in her past. FEMA awarded her $156 million for the job, and Ms. Brown, who is the sole owner and employee of her company, Tribute Contracting LLC, set out to find some help.
Ms. Brown, who is adept at navigating the federal contracting system, hired a wedding caterer in Atlanta with a staff of 11 to freeze-dry wild mushrooms and rice, chicken and rice, and vegetable soup. She found a nonprofit in #Texas that had shipped food aid overseas and domestically, including to a #Houston food bank after #HurricaneHarvey.
By the time 18.5 million meals were due, Tribute had delivered only 50,000. And FEMA inspectors discovered a problem: The food had been packaged separately from the pouches used to heat them. FEMA’s solicitation required “self-heating meals.” 🖐🏾More in comments👇🏾 | follow @the_truth_hunters - #regrann
#tbt About 2 or 3 days after Hurricane Harvey hit. At the family condo in Rockport, TX. One of the only items that remained unharmed was the bottle of vodka I kept in the fridge. I decided to get a picture in the middle of one of the bedrooms. In its own way, that vodka represents the survival of the human spirit. 🤗 P.S. I put a note on the vodka telling the first responders to help themselves. I’m not a monster, you know. 😊 #hurricaneharvey#rockporttx
WE ARE MOVING BACK HOME TOMORROW!!!!! The best thing about this picture is that my sweet mama (whom we’ve been living with for the past 3 weeks) suggested we head out for lunch and a yummy drink to celebrate the end of the #hurricaneharvey phase of our lives! I grabbed my purse and didn’t look back! 🌺🏡#thewoodlands #thankful#thoughtfullystyled
Stephen F Austin State Park State has been closed since the day Hurricane Harvey helped bring devastating flooding to us. After a Texas Master Naturalists reforestation project at the park, in anticipation of park reopening soon, I went to check on the 2 Texas Parks & Wildlife Geocache Challenge (TGcC is over but caches remain) caches. One ammo can is long gone the other pictured here, GC3XFOM, survived at GZ being under 8 feet or more of muddy Brazos River water for days! Contents were dry as a bone too! @tpwdparks#geocache#geocaching#optoutside#groundspeak#hurricaneharvey
Our team @WAFB is so proud of these adorable students from the @stjames_episcopaldayschool who helped raise close to $1,000 to benefit Emmanuel Episcopal School in Houston, which was devastated after #HurricaneHarvey. Plus, these students collected 50 boxes of books for Gonzales Primary School, all of which was collected in TWO WEEKS.
All smiles this evening because we’re on the final stretch to our home renovations being completed 🙌🏻 Our house was flooded last year during hurricane Harvey 💦 and let’s just say its been a long 6 months! My hubs and I are counting down the minutes until we can reunite with our precious house! 🏡❤️ @liketoknow.it#liketkit http://liketk.it/2uKyi @liketoknow.it.home#LTKunder100
Thank you to our partner @tumitravel for their generous donation of $400,000 that will enable our team to rebuild The Rhodes School for the Performing Arts in Houston. This public charter school offers tuition-free education to low-income minority communities. 550 pre-K through eighth-grade students attended the Rhodes school until it became flooded during Hurricane Harvey.

Details matter! As designers, we think through even the smallest detail to make the project a success. This desk is in a model unit from a renovation after Hurricane Harvey.

Despite Harvey, Houston's housing market had an overall good year. Read more in Center Senior Data Analyst Joshua Roberson's latest article. Link in bio.
Hurricane Harvey concrete proof. Our Versatile bows start with a 1/2" solid round bar backed with a vertical bulkhead then welded inside and out. You can still see the concrete imbedded in our 2018 demo Versatile's bow as we hit a concrete driveway head on while performing rescues. See this skiff in person next week at the Houston Fishing Show #hurricaneharvey#stronglikebull#versatile#sabineskiffs#aluminumskiff
On August 27th officers were flagged down by a citizen that was reporting a man trapped undeneath a bridge due to high water from #Harvey. The water continued to rise and there were no rescue team available at the time. Just Approx 10 brave officers who appeared on the scene and used every tool we had to bring this gentleman to safety. From using ropes, tubes, and our own bodies to do whatever we could to save his life and we had to think quick. The water was rising above our stomachs with bugs crawling on us, but it didn't matter. Long story short, he was able to get close to shore and I was able to quickly grab him and pull him out the water. I gave him a big hug and told him I loved him. This was one of the saddest and scariest moments of my career Ive experienced. I thank God for working with #Brave men and women who #sacrifice their lives everyday to save others and if this would ever happen again, we would do it all over. I still say thanks to everyone including our city who did an excellent job to help save lives during #HurricaneHarvey. This award is for all of you 🙏
Rest In Heaven #SgtPerez 🙏🙏 WeLove You
Took a run through the neighbourhood next to our apartment complex for the first time today. This neighbourhood got hit by #hurricaneharvey as badly as ours did - but the good news is that construction crews are all over the place. Still, it’s heartbreaking to see so many homes in various stages of demolition.
But it’s coming back, baby.
More good news: this morning we secured a closing date for our loan to rebuild our home. So in a few weeks, after closing, our house will look like the above, and then construction can start.
It’s the beginning of the beginning. ✨
Hey y’all! Our Texas tank benefiting those affected by Hurricane Harvey flew off the shelves this weekend. Don’t worry, we have more on the way 🙌🏻. Get your order in while they last 📦
