I'm a wear my heart on my sleeve kind of guy. I've never masked my emotion too well and I'm not going to start now, so here goes. If you ever wanted to see what the faces of freedom hating socialism looks like, behold Ohio Democrat Senator Skindell of Lakewood Ohio and democrat Senator Tavares of Columbus Ohio. Today they announced they are trying to pass Ohio Senate Bill 260 (link in my bio), which is both an "assault weapons" ban and an ammunition sales database. The ban would include all full auto, semi-auto rifle with detachable magazine which can accommodate 10 or more rounds, or semi auto rifles with internal box magazine that can accommodate 10 or more rounds. These two parasites are a prime example of piece of shit politicians who use tragedy to forward their agenda and get their little dicks hard to attempt to pass a bill with their names on it. They prey on the vulnerability and emotions of victims, the the citizens who mourn for the victims and other people who are ignorant to the fact about guns, gun violence and crime statistics and only know the shit they are fed from the news media and can only recite buzzwords like background checks, assult weapons and gunshow loopholes. They peddle bullshit stats and give information that is intentionally misleading to persuade people. Here's what they are not telling you: of the nearly 33,000 gun deaths 2/3 are suicide and according to the FBI in the US in 2016 374 people were killed by rifles and 1,604 people were killed by knives. Maybe we should ban knives. Now why would they want to ban something in the state in which only 374 people died of nation wide? Control. First they go after the rifles, and then because no one really dies by rifle, their excuse will be to go after handguns because they are the more lethal statistically. This must not happen as we need to strike this shit down right now and fight back. I think about this sometimes. Especially as a female...if some psycho wants to hurt me (or my family) I want a gun as my self-defense weapon...not a taser or pepper spray. Bullets are your best defense against a raged up criminal, especially one on drugs which dull their senses to pain. #whyIcarry
Lots of debates going on what to do in light of the tragedy of the most recent mass murder in a school. Lots of emotions being thrown out by both sides. Realistically there are two things that won’t happen, 1. There won’t be legislation passed for further gun control 2. Government isn’t coming to take your guns. Let’s talk real solutions to combat the evils of this world. Let’s hire unemployed veterans as guidance counselors on the campus of schools who carry concealed and have access to a secure locker with body armor and an AR or have more resource officers on campus (schools with RO’s have significantly lower incidents and have had zero mass murders). I’m giving up on mental health policies because they don’t work but I do support making the government accountable for FAILURE to enforce the CURRENT gun laws in effect. So far every incident has had major FBI and ATF failures to do their job. More laws don’t work if the baddies don’t follow them and really don’t work if the government doesn’t enforce them. Let’s keep cool heads and put aside emotions they don’t solve anything. #guncontrol#massmurder#lawenforcement#LEO#gunrights#secondamendment#2ndamendment#righttobeararms#thepewpewlife#pewprofessional#veteran#veterans#ar15#gunsofinstagram#pewpew#556#politics#Security#NationalSecurity#USConstitution
That was about as good a job as anyone could’ve asked for, @dloesch... and, honestly Better than I expected. Thank you for showing up. The format was surprising to me. The choice to have a stadium full of people who are so emotionally charged responding to every statement in the discussion honestly prevented much of the discussion that could’ve, and should’ve, happened.
@marcorubiofla also showed a lot of grit taking the brunt of the crowd’s angry venting early in the @cnn Townhall.
The one shockingly disappointing aspect of the evening was @browardsheriffofficial Israel. His lack of ownership over the issue of addressing the Killer’s actions earlier and whining about the lack of power law enforcement has were an embarrassment. His repeated stumbling through talking points was painful.
As I said earlier, the @nationalrifleassociation deserved credit for not shying away from this evening’s event. It represents a change that is needed and many have been calling for.
Those of us fighting for our Gun Rights need to avoid the temptation to simply dismiss or deride the emotions and opinions expressed by that crowd tonight. Take a moment to process the context and realize that no one who is open to a real discussion about firearms in the US (and that is MILlIONS is people who vote) will be positively influenced by online venting of your frustrations. Be prepared to respond coherently to people who will be talking and asking about what they heard. Those people aren’t in your chat room or a pro-gun discussion group. They are in a meeting with you at work tomorrow, standing next to you in line at a coffee shop and asking questions online a few weeks from now when Gun Control Bills are being discussed in Congress.
Have real conversations... educate, listen, discuss. If you can’t take the time and put in the effort to do that, you really don’t care as much about our rights as you might be claiming to inside your safe spaces in social media or at the gun range this weekend.
