A couple more bottles from the newly acquired Breakside Brewery have just landed! Their •Salted Caramel Stout is the result of a collaboration with Salt & Straw Ice Cream Company. (Which has a location in SF now!) Their •Bourbon Barrel-Aged Aztec (2017 Edition) is an Ale brewed with Chiles and Chocolate Aged in Bourbon Barrels. Just right for chilling weather. One of the best things about Winter in the Midwest is Founders Backwoods Bastard, a bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale with oak and bourbon character and surprising tropical highlights of banana and coconut and distant dark berries. Decadent and delightful.
Since no one is talking about this local place, I thought I would do my best to give them a bit of recognition. @bottlelogicbrewing is a SoCal brewery trying to make it in a sea of great breweries. I think this is their first try in the barrel aged game, and boy..did they hit it out of the park! A Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout finished with cacao nibs & black and red raspberries. Great jammy aroma & fresh fruit flavor! Smooth/sweet chocolate & mellow Bourbon. This is an amazing liquid dessert, and one of the finest beers I’ve had! I’m going to go out on a limb and say right now, I see big things for this new brewery! (Hope I didn’t jinx it...) Get some before the word gets out...Cheers!
