This sweet little soul... I had the privilege of being her teacher for 3 years. She has always had the most special spirit and kind heart, even when she was just a tiny peanut. I was lucky enough to get to hang out with her and her awesome brother last night. (She's 5 & 1/2 now 😫) Anyways, we got to talking and I mentioned something about someone not being kind. She looks and me and says, "Yeah that's taking out of someone's bucket and you should only fill people's buckets." I looked at her in complete disbelife, that such profound words came out of such a young mouth. I asked her who taught her that. She looked at me and without a second thought told me, Mr. Tyrone.
We never know what information or lessons we give to children will actually sink in. As teachers, parents, influencers, we just do our best to give them all of life's most important lessons and hope that some of it sticks . This is proof it does. I looked at her and said, "Wow GG ! That's a really special thing you understand . Some adults don't even know how to do that and your 5 and you get it. Never forget how important it is to fill people's buckets. And also be aware of people who are taking from your bucket but not filling you up. "
What a beautiful reminder she gave me. In a time of chaos, what an amazing gift it was to hear such simple yet important insight. She is our future. We get influence our future generations to do better, be better than those of us who have come before them. What we say and implement is taking effect and she is proof. This is my, "Why." I get to teach and influence children but more importantly they are constantly reminding me, teaching me, and bringing me back to what life is all about. We need more GG's in this world, espesiclaly right now. She gives me hope and peace of mind that things will get better. Hopefully the future humans are more kind, tolerant, open and loving to one and other. All the time and effort we are putting in with these kids , it's working. I have to give a MAJOR shout out to @theehumblephotographer for giving GG and so many other children such important life lessons and perspective.
